Stephen Brook:Very deep red. Very ripe nose showing pronounced oakiness, piercing and intense, with exquisite aromas of cassis and just a hint of red fruits, completely open. Fresh and sleek on the palate, and although the tannins are tongue-coating, there is no harshness. With fine acidity, intensity, and poise, this is not a muscular style; indeed, it is feminine and graceful and has the same piercing quality as the nose, scything through the palate to give a long, sweet (but not jammy) finish.
