Stephen Brook:Deep red with a solid core. The nose is delicate and perfumed, with aromas of red fruits and tobacco and a slight herbaceousness. The palate is rather slight and forward for a wine of this prestige, silky but also a touch slack, and the tannins are a bit obtrusive, though not coarse. It is hard to see this going the distance, though the acidity is fresh and crisp, and there’s a light spiciness on the finish, which is moderately long.
