Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve: This is clearly going to be a great wine. There is a naturalness on the palate that approaches perfection, thanks to the high proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon—the highest in the appellation, as far as we know. The supremacy of the mouthfeel is on a par with that of Lafite or Ducru-Beaucaillou. The winemaking philosophy is the exact opposite of Cos d’Estournel, but in the end both visions have created exceptional wines. 19
Michael Schuster: Concentrated middleweight, with a very fine tannin; rich, elegant, with a lovely juiciness of fruit; long, close-grained, very finely mineral, complex, and complete, with great fruit and aroma length. Succulence, finesse, freshness. Great Calon. 2022–40+. 17/18
