Michel Bettane: Even more oaky than Langoa but in a more classical cedary register, and perhaps with more precisely delineated tannins (less vin de presse?). Excellent body, classical dry style, energy, and class but with a hint of austerity 17.5
Thierry Desseauve: Dark color; cedary and spicy aromas; deep definition; dry finish. Long runner 17
Michael Schuster: Dense cassis Cabernet to smell; rich, muscular St-Julien, firmly tannic behind the clear ripe fruit; long, elegant, even, complex, but will need at least another decade in bottle to start to be approachable. Classy but austere. Drink 2022–34+ 17
