Michel Bettane: Golden color; evident botrytis on the nose but with a hint of oxidation, even if less marked than in Nairac; lots of finesse and harmony, but it is not Coutet at its best 16

Thierry Desseauve: Rich wine but not absolutely precise; generously made 16

Michael Schuster: Mid-gold; peachy bouquet, subtle oak vanilla; elegantly balanced middleweight Barsac of moderate concentration and supple to fresh acidity; sweet, fine flavor, gently aromatic, long and subtle and subtly minerally to taste; fine, aromatic, limestone-tinged aftertaste. Very Barsac— the year’s finesse rather than weight or concentration, but harmonious and notably complete for the vintage. Liquorous and light at once. Lovely. Delicious now; excellent prospects. Drink 2012–30 18
