Michael Steinberger: Another colossus. Leafy Cabernet, along with eucalyptus, earth, and a pronounced Asiatic spice note on the nose. Sweet, fleshy dark fruit on the palate, with great minerality, perfectly integrated tannins, and an endless finish. As with these two vintages of Haut- Brion, it is going to be a thrill to watch the 2000 La Mission evolve alongside the 2005. 19.5–20
