Stephen Browett: A dark color with a big, opulent black-fruit nose. A huge wine. Stacked with layer after layer of dense, inky cassis and licorice. Incredible concentration but dangerously decadent and almost drinkable already. A hedonist’s delight. Serious yet incredibly sexy and exotic. Drop-dead gorgeous. 17.5

Michael Schuster: Dark red, backward color; dense, closed, concentrated to smell; firm black fruit and mineral; nicely balanced in a firm, concentrated style; plenty of matter and minerally core here, with a very firm, but fine-textured tannin; a fairly muscular Leoville-Poyferré, but long and complex across the palate, with a clear minerality behind the dense fruit; good, gravelly length. A long-term wine, but although there is no coarseness here, the firmness of the tannin is a concern. From 2020. 16.5
