Stephen Brook: Deep to very deep red. Baked aromas, rather drab, again more Rhône in their plumminess than Médoc. Rather light and simple, sweet and slightly confected fruit with a clear hint of over-ripeness; some heat on the palate, too. Then it all tails off fast, thanks to the lack of acidity. Truly modest, and I’m not sure I like this candied quality. Dauzac may not be the greatest of Margaux wines but it usually has delicious fruit. This does not. Fairly short. 11
Stephen Browett: Quite a deep color. Black fruit and oak on the nose. Impressive weight of black cherry and cassis fruit. Nicely highlighted by pepper, vanilla, and spice from the oak. Very impressive for Dauzac. 16
Michael Schuster: Dark red; minerally nose, oddly both very ripe and touch herbaceous as well; nice, light, flowing, straightforward fruit at core, but gripped by a very dry oak tannin which it is unlikely ever to absorb. Finishes short. Tough prospects. 13
