Stephen Brook: Very deep red. Sweet cherry fruit, some overripeness and caramel tones, but has some charm. Rather slight and simple, but pretty and surprisingly delicate for 2003. Firm tannins, too, but not over-extracted. Overall, it’s rather jagged, with none of the elements in harmony and the tannins too big for the modest fruit. Has better length than most. No complexity here but could be enjoyable if drunk soon. 13.5
Michael Schuster: Dark red; clear minerality on the nose here; elegantly balanced medium weight within the vintage, but also with a firm tannin round modest fruit; Margaux delicacy, some freshness here, and good, medium length; quite refined, but seems unlikely to see out its tannin. From 2012. 15
