Stephen Brook: Deep to very deep red. Sprightly nose, cherries, vanilla, and mint, the oak quite marked. Fairly rich, silky, concentrated, with a freshness probably derived from the Cabernet Franc. Firm, if somewhat furry, tannins give it some structure, and the finish is sweet but lively. A good wine, though not outstanding by this estate’s own standards. 16.5
Stephen Browett: Medium-deep color. Fresh, fragrant strawberry nose. Fabulous St-Emilion purity without being too light. Delicately balanced. It has intensity and yet is very pretty and refined. Beautifully crafted. 16
Michael Schuster: Dark red; intense, cedary, toasty, roasted nose, with abundant ripe fruit, should make a very nice bouquet; elegantly balanced middleweight with a very fine tannin; soft, sweetly ripe fruit, long and refined. Lacks a touch of defining “freshness”—that’s the vintage—but with good length and accessible early. From 2010. 16.5
