Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve: More immediately seductive than Haut-Brion due to its arresting aromatic palette, uniting all the petits fruits rouges with its perfect texture and tannin. A wine of great style that will always rival its immediate neighbor, as in the good old days! 18.5

Michael Schuster: Dense, crisply ripe red and black fruit on the nose, along with marked gravel and mineral aromas; medium-weight La Mission, but both fleshy and taut, with a very fine-grained tannin; gravel-backed ripeness of flavor, lovely complexity and evenness across the palate, great poise and elegance, along with excellent aromatic length. A very fine, if not a particularly big La Mission—long, refined mezzo forte richness! 2018–30+. 17.5/18
