Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve: Since 2004, the enterprising efforts of the Barons de Rothschild-Lafite, now sole owners, have clearly reached fruition this vintage, in one of the four or five most accomplishd wines of the Right Bank. Coping effortlessly with its ambitious élevage, the wine expresses brilliant and complex aromas, a silky body, delicate and very enveloping, and a refined length. Elegant and not overbearing, it is a l’Évangile that attains a certain formal perfection. 17.5/18

Michael Schuster: Pure, refined, sweetly ripe nose, cedar-oak tinged; very nicely balanced, moderately rich, fresh, fine-textured, fleshy wine, long and juicily opulent at a less concentrated level than usual and with good scented length. Graceful, complete, medium-term L’Evangile. 2015–25. 17
