BUY THE WINE

Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve: A complete wine, impresssing with its magnificent citrus fruit notes and slight bitterness on the finish that gives a unique charm to the wine. Lots of brightness and refinement in the taste, and without doubt one of the most successful wines of the property in the past 20 years! 18.5/19

Michael Schuster: A sample at the château was fresh and lemony, intensely sweet, long, complex, spicy, and refined. Later the same day, at the Union des Grands Crus tasting, it seemed softer, almost too sweet, but with the minerality and complexity still coming through. It is, at any rate, a very rich and luscious Coutet, which will doubtless be flattering young and delicious for decades. 2012–35. 17.5+
