Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve: Admirable aromatic purity, with notes evoking pears, linden, and white flowers; the texture is more unctuous than any other in this vintage, with great length and a style of its own; as always, it has the spirit of a grand cru Burgundy but with the feeling of freshness belonging only to the Bordeaux grape varieties. The oak is magically absent. 19/20

John Gilman: La Mission Haut-Brion Blanc is a touch cooler than the Haut-Brion Blanc, tipping the scales at only 14.2% ABV. There is much more Semillon in this wine than in the Haut-Brion blanc (81% versus 46%), and for whatever reason, it seems to hide its high alcohol a bit better than the Haut-Brion Blanc. The bouquet is deep and complex as it offers up a ripe blend of pink grapefruit, fresh figs, plenty of petrol, stony soil tones, citrus peel, a bit of cut grass, and vanillin oak. On the palate, the wine is deep, full-bodied, ripe, and complex, with a spike of hard acids running down the spine. Fine focus, and impressive length and grip on the well-balanced finish. Quite good and probably my favorite white in the Dillon stable this year. 2014–30+. 17/17.5

Michael Schuster: On the nose, a clear Sauvignon aromatic vitality alongside the Semillon waxiness; rich, ample, and vigorous in constitution. Very ripe fruit profile to taste, broad, spicy, close-knit, dense, and complex; despite its weight there is absolutely no excess alcohol apparent, and it is all the while beautifully defined by its acidity. A grand, aristocratic, fleshily mouth-coating wine, very long across the palate and very tenacious in fruit and aroma to finish. A great La Mission Haut-Brion Blanc. 2018–40+. 18.5/19.5
