BUY THE WINE

Michel Bettane: Color of young Sauternes, even with a green edge; vanilla from oak easy to smell, concentrated fruit, evidence of advanced ripeness of the grapes, perhaps even some passerillage (trocken dimension of texture). 16.5

Thierry Desseauve: Light-gold color, much more young and brilliant than the late ’90s Guiraud style. Nevertheless, the nose lacks precision, with some lactic notes. Ample and well balanced, the wine is good, but Guiraud has done much better than this vintage. 16. Second bottle: paler, more precise, more citrus. 17

Michael Schuster: Deep gold, fine, vivid, lightly oaky, honeyed nose; moderately concentrated wine, sweet but lacking the finesse and subtlety suggested by its bouquet; moderate complexity and good, light length; a second bottle was fresher and purer—very good, but without being special. Now–2025. 16.5
