John Gilman: The Château Guiraud has turned out very well indeed and is another of the stars of the vintage in Sauternes. The wine is deep and quite nicely glazed with botrytis; it offers up a bouquet of pineapple, orange zest, honey, a nice touch of fresh herbs (from the higher proportion of Sauvignon Blanc in the blend than is the case at any other of the classed growths in Sauternes), lovely soil tones, and a very stylish base of vanillin oak. On the palate, the wine is deep, full-bodied, suave, and very classy, with a lovely core of fruit, bright acids, excellent focus and balance, and a very long, complex, and elegant finish. Classy juice. 2014–35+. 17.5
