Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve: Classic, noble aroma of cedar. It seems that at the instigation of Jean-Charles Cazes, the son of Jean-Michel, now in charge, this cru is changing its style slightly, having more in common with the classic flavor and structure of Grand-Puy-Lacoste than with its own past. The wine may have lost a little of baroque flamboyance, dear to our American friends, but it has gained greatly in finesse and in the precision of its texture, and we admit to loving this metamophosis! 17.5/18
Michael Schuster: Well defined, crisply ripe fruit to smell; elegantly balanced, fresh, rich middleweight wine with a very fine-textured tannin; long, even, refined, juicy-cored; quite complex, almost racy, well endowed with fruit, minerality and scent; excellent length, most seductive. A tad below the fine 2006 in quality, more open, fleshier and to drink earlier. A great success. 2015–25. 16.5
