Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve: Tasted at the château. Great, classic, cedary aroma, very complete on the palate, the tannin firm and complex, with the creamy consistency of the greatest Médocs of the vintage, and a worthy finish. 18/18.5
Michael Schuster: Pronounced mineral and red fruit in character on the nose; firm balance, crisp acidity, fine-grained tannin, long, linear, refined flavor, but clearly in a more severe mold for the vintage, and a wine that will need the time in bottle, which most 2007s won’t. It is 90% Cabernet Sauvignon and 90% new oak, the combination of which will certainly account in part for its slightly forbidding nature. 2020–30+. 16/16.5?
