Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve: Another majestic performance from this superb wine: massive yet harmonious, with classically strict tannins on the finish that provide a dignified backing for oodles of pulpy flesh. Once tasted, never forgotten. Great style, great vintage. 18

Michael Schuster: Crisp fruit and new wood to smell; elegantly balanced, closely wrought, finely tannic wine with a fresh, defining acidity; refined, graceful, mineral, new-oak and black-cherry flavors, intense without being strong; long, quite subtle, vividly fresh throughout, and with fine, gently aromatic, fruit-cored length. Lovely Troplong. Its quality just reinforces the frustration here at the classification mess! 2015–30. 16.5/17
