Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve: Pure, complex nose, well-balanced body, and great persistence. A terrifically stylish Sauternes with an elegant, liqueur-like character. It was the first wine on our list and obviously proved a hard act to follow! 17

Michael Schuster: Dense, fresh, lemon and spice nose; fairly concentrated, elegantly balanced middleweight with a racy defining acidity; very sweet, complex, mineral-drenched flavor, long in the mouth, long and fragrant to finish. Freshness, vitality, definition, finesse. Full of refined promise. 2012–25. 17.5/18
