Stephen Brook: Very deep red. Very ripe, minty nose, with charming lift, presumably given by the Cabernet Franc; zesty, like a freshly made sorbet, if you’ll forgive the pretension. Medium-bodied, sleek, precise, very ripe, not especially concentrated, but stylish and intense, with a beguiling purity. This seems to have lightened up a bit since previous tastings, but it’s very charming and is already drinking beautifully. Good length. 17

Andrew Jefford: Dense black-red. Beefy, meaty, savory style of St-Emilion, aromatically speaking. Attractively different from the diaphonous fruit sylphs. Rounded, full, earthy, with a greater sense of warmth and ripeness than in many. Exuberant, full-throated finish for this vintage—though not the concentration or intensity quite needed for greatness. Lots of uncomplicated enjoyment. 15

Michael Schuster: Sweet, fresh, ripe fruit to smell; nicely balanced, very fine-textured, medium-full wine; delicate, subtle, ripe fruit, long and elegant and scented; not big, but classy, and with excellent, gently scented length. Complete, stylish, drinkable young, but will keep well, too. Very nice. Now to 2020+. 16.5
