Stephen Brook: Opaque red. Super-ripe nose, luxurious, plummy, fruitcake, with a hint of truffles. Very seductive and beguiling. Supple yet very concentrated, intense black fruits backed by firm, ripe tannins and splendid acidity that creeps up on the mid-palate and races the wine through to a long finish. A very hedonistic Pomerol that is quite accessible but will undoubtedly improve over the next decade. 18
Andrew Jefford: Dark black-red. Attractively raspberry-fruited: sweet, fresh, and lively, with an aromatic spring in its step. The oak is admirably subtle here; great grace and purity. Deep, full, fruit-led, with soft raspberry, peach, and cherry tumbling over each other. Very soft tannins tug the fruits toward order at the end. The cool cast of the vintage falls over the fruits, but there is nothing unripe here. A relatively swift, cool finish follows. An intelligent reading of the vintage, and a tasty, mid-term Conseillante. 15.5
Michael Schuster: Subtle, finely scented vanilla-cream and blackberry nose; elegantly balanced, discreet middleweight, with a very fine-textured tannin; freshly ripe fruit, long and refined across the palate, with a gently mouth-filling fragrance and excellent, lightly aromatic length. Class rather than size is the point. Still a touch dry in texture, so needs a few years for a more glossy impression. Lovely Pomerol 2012–20+. 16.5 / 17
