James Lawther: Stricter and even more austere than the regular Trottevieille. Dark garnet color. Reserved dark-fruit and licorice nose. Palate tight, rigorous, and firmly structured. Powerful tannic frame accentuated by strident acidity. Slightly one-dimensional, with a hard, firm finish. Definitely in need of bottle age. Drink 2015–25. 16
