Michael Schuster: (bottled 1973) Deep amber, khaki-rimmed; fine, fresh nose of citrus zest and caramel, brisk and lemony. A richly medium-sweet style for Verdelho; lovely absorbed acidity but with the vitality still there within a silky richness of texture. Deep, generous, long, and fine, still with a great core of fruit—a most seductive example of the grape, very complex and tenacious on the palate, very long to finish; a wonderful wine at 60 years. Now and for generations! 19+
