Michael Schuster: Lemony sweet, wonderfully fresh and mineral to smell; a vital, concentrated wine, a superb, rich Barsac balance; intensely sweet to taste, a fine, subtle unctuousness of texture, with a pronounced underlying limestone minerality and spicy botrytis complexity. Vivid, complex, racy, long, and succulent, with excellent length. A fairly weighty Coutet, yet with an excellent, fresh, vital, defining acidity and lovely, sweet, lemon-and-mineral-infused aromatic persistence; the richness notwithstanding, this still has the classic Barsac restraint of style. Absolutely lovely wine, complete and exciting; a very fine Coutet indeed. If this is representative of the final bottling (and I am told it has been assembled), this will be a great Coutet. 2015–35+. 18.5/19+
