Stephen Brook: Medium gold. Quite evolved botrytis nose, with barley-sugar and marmalade aromas but not excessively developed for its age. Broad, opulent, luscious, and a touch soft, but there’s sufficient acidity to perk it up on the mid-palate. Again, barley sugar and caramelized oranges on the palate and a heady, sensuous quality. It does seem a touch too evolved on the palate, and it lacks a little flair and bite. Has a moderately long finish, and I wonder how well this will continue to develop. Certainly a gorgeous glass of wine now but perhaps not for long cellaring. 17
Margaret Rand: Deep color. Coffee-and-marmalade nose, palate evolved, with a touch of that oxidized, burned-plastic note as in [Château de Fargues]. I just don’t like this style, though this is far more elegant and less heavy-handed than [Château de Fargues]. 13.5
Michael Schuster: Mature orange-gold; ripe fruit, with a touch of raisiny maturity; intensely sweet, with a lively defining acidity. Linear, orange-zesty flavor, intense and pure and long if not particularly aromatically complex, and with fine fruit persistence. Now to 2020+. 17
