Nicolas Belfrage: Quite deep color with not much oranging on rim. Correct perfumes and good follow through on palate, though slightly low acidity gives doubts about future development. Still, a fine Barolo with time to go - 16.5
Stephen Brook: Very deep red. Opulent black-fruit nose; some new oak here (I think) and an aromatic power that leaps from the glass. Rich and resplendent, with admirable depth of fruit, brooding and powerful, with some tarry tones and a bit of alcohol. This has a wild quality that’s hard to pin down but gives the wine personality. It’s a bit of a bruiser, and finesse isn’t the word that comes to mind, but it has energy and pep, despite the alcohol, and a long, vigorous, chalky finish - 17.5
Jancis Robinson: Very dark blackish brown. Strange sweet, waxy aromas. Very dry finish. Quite hard work! This needs a lot of time and is still very tarry on the end, though I am inclined to believe it will all come right. Massively packed with flavor. And the tannins are well managed. Bonfire aromas. Great energy. Drink 2016–25 - 18
