Stephen Brook: Very deep plum red. Sweet, ripe lifted nose: cherry pie, vanilla, fruitcake. Rich, rounded, concentrated; has depth and discreet power. Fine acidity keeps the midpalate alert. The alcohol seems a touch high, but this has an impressive sumptuousness allied to depth of fruit and supported by firm tannins. A modern style but successful, with its lovely texture, fine depth of fruit, and great persistence - 18
Jancis Robinson: Blackish crimson. Hardly any development at the rim. Lightly tarry and sweet—not a particularly haunting bouquet. This is not definitively Barolo. More like slightly syrupy red wine with quite high acid and tannin. Stolid but not uplifting. Drink 2014–18 - 14
