Nicolas Belfrage: Unusually deep, tight-grained color. Oaky aromas waft forth, not immediately suggestive of Nebbiolo. Lowish acid in the mouth adds to the impression. Plenty of tannin and well made. Seductive wine but not particularly typical. Drink from 2012 - 13

Stephen Brook: Opaque red. Rich, dense, tarry nose, lush and hedonistic. Very rich, broad, and concentrated, with weighty tannins and considerable power. It may lack some elegance, but it has body and presence. Well balanced, it should age well, and no single component obtrudes. A tad more acidity would have been welcome, but this is an impressive wine, with a firm, chewy finish - 17

Jancis Robinson: Very dark and glowing—looks more like a Napa Cabernet. Smells like an overripe Napa Cabernet! Extremely modernist and actually high VA and unappetizingly drying on the end. Really a bit of a travesty - 12
