Nicolas Belfrage: Medium depth; okay for type. Attractive nose of wood smoke and red berry. Compact palate, quite alcoholic but has fruit character to stand up to that alcohol. Porty, but that’s no problem; typical powerdriven, quality Barolo- 16.5:

Jancis Robinson: Dark blackish ruby. Sweet and bloody and with real transparency and vibrancy. Nervy. Really rather impressive! Some opulence, too. Just a little sweeter and more obvious than the most ethereal Barolo, this should really give pleasure. Neat, dry finish, though it’s not yet ready. Drink 2017–27- 17 :
