Alex Hunt: Fresh, sappy, redcurrant and raspberry aromas on the nose, then a surprising hit of rather resinous oak on the palate. This gives the impression of good raw material overworked in the winery. Texturally it’s pleasant if a little lacking in detail, but the fruit is smudged by the oak- 13
Andrew Jefford: Dark black-red in color. Vivid, bright, warm, rounded, with classic redcurrant fruits. Few overtones or undertones, but ripe and straightforwardly enticing. Bright, pungent, fresh, exuberant: a cascade of red fruit. Supple, ample tannins provide support, and it stays pungent and peppery right to the end. Red Loire with the east wind through it; bracing- 14.5
Simon Larkin: Deep in the glass, crimson to rim, the aromas are sweet, ripe, and perfumed. Freshly crushed berry but in a riper, more generous sense. Softer on the palate, glossy, plush, with some evident oak nuances. A sleek, honed style with a grainy tannic aspect to the finish. The finish is much more savory, minerally even, than the first impression, with leafier, undergrowth nuances emerging. Long, fresh, and appealing, this example has clearly opened in the glass- 14
