Alex Hunt: A dulled red color, and a nose far more like Pinot than Cabernet: strawberry, cherry, red cabbage, and cinnamon oak. There is a sweetness and gentleness to the palate that is quite beguiling. Despite brisk acidity, it’s not tough. Good tannin balance and a long, nicely tapered finish- 16
Andrew Jefford: Dark black-red. Quite sweetly oaky in the context of this tasting, thus monotonous aromatically. Light and oak-dominated. Not a success for my palate. The barrel money would have been better spent on reducing yields and harvesting riper fruit, supposing that this is a potentially distinguished site- 10
Simon Larkin: A duller hue in the glass as if the wine is evolving. Brick. The nose exudes perfumed berry fruit with a heavy oak overlay. High toast. A little medicinal, there is an ungainly mix of sweet berry, savory nuance, and leafy nuances. The finish is relatively short-lived, and it is difficult to dismiss characters of Band-Aid plasters. Odd and ungainly- 8
