Alex Hunt: Cassis fruit tempered by toasty-spicy oak—another wine casting an eye to Bordeaux. The palate is decadently rich but without any obvious sweetness; this is a neat trick. The finish, unfortunately, does turn rather soppy and creamy, which breaks the spell. But until then, there is a thoroughgoing balance between opulence and savoriness - 16
Andrew Jefford: Dense, dark, saturated black-red. A warm, enticing synthesis of fresh oak and vivid fruit, with some cinnamon spice, too, and a little meatiness—the Argentinian allure. A cascade of relatively bright, lightly extracted fruit on the palate; fruit to the fore. Good fruit, though simpler than the best. Lyrical, graceful, a different form of expression: a sort of Margaux compared to the Pauillac norm - 13.5
Jancis Robinson: Dark purple and still quite unevolvedlooking. Sweet black-cherry notes. Sweet and sour and astringent. Not really a very sophisticated whole. Drink to 2015 - 15.5
