BUY THE WINE

Tim Atkin: Mid-straw/gold. Rich, honeyed, crowdpleasing nose. Good, modern-style wine, with quite a bit of oak but bags of complexity. Chardonnay with an Italian twist. Smoky, savory, well made, with nice stone-fruit flavors 16.5

Nicolas Belfrage: 1 = color of water and 9 = deep gold: Col 2.5. Gently honeyed nose. Some sherbetty fruit on palate. Okay as food wine but not a bottle-drinker 13

Alex Hunt: Rich golden color and lots of popcorny oak and malolactic aromas. The palate shows impressive line, with fine acidity and genuine concentration from the grapes. But this errs on the side of being oak-stuffed and lees-starved. It needs longer in barrel, with less new oak, in order to display the obvious quality of the raw material to best effect 15.5
