Tim Atkin: Very dense, saturated color. Ultra-spicy, dense, some reduction, tannin. Nice, savory, spicy, masses of flavor, pepper and spice, and length. Good acidity and complexity. Elegant, savory, complex finish. 2–5 years- 17.5

Alex Hunt: Dark, closed, brooding nose giving way to a surprisingly juicy, if tannic, palate. This is a bit of an inky monster; fairly unsubtle, but the balance is fine- 14

Anthony Rose: Good intense ruby hue, aromatic. Sweet, peppery; good dark-berry-fruit flavors, licorice and pepper spice, attractively juicy texture, albeit with quite firm tannins and acidity, almost St-Joseph-like in structure and elegance, though a tad austere on the finish- 16
