BUY THE WINE

Tim Atkin: Big, bold dense wine. Aussie-style nose, with bags of charry oak. Chunky, powerful, spicy, but this seems a little oak-dominated at the moment. A little OTT? The oak dries out the fruit on the finish- 15

Alex Hunt: Closed but classy, with discreet berryfruit aromas. On the palate, pretty fruit is slightly overwhelmed by alcohol, and the tannins are a little dry. Not as well balanced as it might be- 13.5

Anthony Rose: Powerfully dense and youthful in color; fine intense dark cherry, almost kirsch-like nose with an infusion of spice; the fruit is opulent and richly concentrated in the dark-cherry and blackberry spectrum, intensely flavored and rich, with a finesse and succulence of texture and firm, dry backbone of tannin; all very seductive thanks to very good savory acidity- 17
