Stephen Brook: Ripe apricot and apple nose, not the most obviously varietal of Gewurzes, but the aromas are appealing. Broad, rather soft, and not especially concentrated, this lacks energy and intensity. There’s evident alcohol on the finish, which mars an appealing quality of fruit. Competent but also a bit dull, and not especially long 15
Alison Buchanan: Golden straw; this is rather subdued on the nose, orchard fruit and flowers allied to diesel notes and spice. The palate is spicy, suffused with rosewater and extremely rich, fruit layered with cream and fondant; long. Cheese-friendly but alcoholic 15
Anthony Rose: Pale in color, there’s some rose-petal and Turkish-delight scent to this wine; it’s pleasantly fresh and rose-petal scented on the palate, with good full-bodied exotic ripeness, borderline alcoholic power, and medium sweetness, making this more of a one-glass wonder than an ongoing drink 15
