Nicolas Belfrage: (cc: water-pale = 1; deep gold = 9) cc3. A burst of aromas float from the glass—ladies’ scent, flowers, almost litchi in the manner of Gewürztraminer. Big, fat, ripe palate suffers a bit from lowish acidity but largely makes up for it with unctuousness. Again, great for a glass or two, but it could pall thereafter. Another apéritif style. Not quite the finesse of [Esk Valley Pinot Gris Hawkes Bay 2008 New Zealand]- 15
Marcel Orford-Williams: Orange peel, toffee. Too much sweetness here. Barely balanced, though clean and undoubtedly well made. But I question the style. What would you eat with it? - 14
Joanna Simon: Palish straw. Oak-dominated but fresh nose. Exotic, vibrant apricot-like fruit on the palate: ripe and full, yet fresh. Showing a lot of nutty, toasty oak, but there is enough fruit concentration and acidity to take it— provided you like the taste of new oak. Quite long on the finish, with some residual sugar and clean acidity- 14.5
