Andrew Jefford: Pale silver-gold. An enticing melange of crushed green leaf and struck flint, with green apple and lime fruit. Hard to be more classical than this, and hard not to sip once you’ve smelled the invitation. In the mouth, a juicy explosion that leaves the cheek walls dripping with splattered green apple and lime. Then comes a post-explosive calmness in which the stonier sides of the wine come forward, and the tongue curls around the wine’s vinous core. A down-theline classic: perfect Master of Wine tasting exam material 16.5

Andreas Larsson: Floral and perfumed, with nice purity, ripe fruit, and a notion of minerality. The palate is well balanced, with notes of fresh pineapple, mango, and a juicy acidity. Well rounded, with some salty mineral notes on the finish; quite good length as well 14.5

Stephan Reinhardt: Greenish white color. Back to Sauvignon Blanc again. Very clear and aromatic on the nose, yet discreet fruit aromas, herbal and spicy (aromatic spices). Needs a fillet of pork and some mushrooms—a lunch wine. Well balanced and round on the palate, fine and well structured, developing a remarkable piquancy, salinity, and acidity, even a touch of mocha flavors. Very interesting wine. Reductive style, with a good density and developing aromatic texture, straight and firm. A classic Loire (Sancerre? Menetou?) style. Still on its way. Also great fun to drink solo. Good phenolic structure. Grippy. Not round enough to be scored impressively high maybe; however, this is a wine made for drinking purposes only. Cheers! 16.5
