Stephen Brook: Deep red. Solid cherry and berry fruit on the nose, but there’s a slight lack of aromatic lift. Very ripe and sleek, concentrated yet fresh, this is pungent and linear without being coarse or overblown. Quite elegant for Zinfandel, and it could use a bit more swagger, but it’s a delicious and accessible mouthful of fruit, with no trace of jamminess or heat. Quite long 16.5
Alex Hunt: A youthful nose with a certain amount of new oak showing, above promising blackberry fruit. Decadent yet cleverly balanced on the palate, just the right side of jammy, with a combination of fresh acidity and residual CO2 giving the required lift. It is broad-brush stuff, and you’d more likely drink a glass than a bottle, but there is a certain purity, poise, and length here that impresses 16
Anthony Rose: Mid-ruby hue, with sweet red-berry fruits on the nose; there’s an attractively sweet, ripe palate here of dark-berry fruits in the mulberry and plum spectrum, a nice level of concentration, and good balance of fresh acidity, with firmish tannins and not excessive alcohol 15.5
