BUY THE WINE

Tim Atkin: Mid-ruby/purple. Bold, ripe, oaky nose. Very concentrated. Palate soupy and dry. Picked too late. Faintly pruney. Alcoholic burn on the finish. 9

Alex Hunt: Porty aromas of super-ripe fruit, tar, and candied peel. A hefty, extracted style that nonetheless has enough character and vigor to work quite well. 14

Anthony Rose: Strong blackcurrant- and blackberry-jam aromas, verging on the Porty, with a hint of cola spiciness. Quite baked and Porty on the palate, with outsize, chunky, drying tannins, whose levels of extraction bite the tongue and leave you with a feeling that you’ve been mugged. Hard to drink a lot of this one. 13
