Tim Atkin: Mid-ruby. Some evidence of bottle development. Resinous oak dominates the nose, with faintly raisiny fruit behind it. American-/Australian-style red. Far too much sweet oak. High-alcohol finish. 10

Alex Hunt: Aromatic, with immediate berry and damson aromas. Supple, well-managed tannins, and plenty of acidity, but the fruit is a little overevolved. Slightly drying oak on the finish. 12

Anthony Rose: Ruby with garnet tinges, showing some evolution. A hint of chocolaty sweetness on the nose but rather lacking in vibrancy. Quite sweet and chocolaty on the palate, too, with rather gawky, rustic tannins and a touch of smoky oak. After a hollow palate, the finish is alcoholic, dry, and extracted. 11
