Chateau Cos d'Estournel Pagodes de Cos Saint-Estephe Bordeaux France 2019 (13.5% ABV) — 91.5
AJ | Saturated black-red. Fresh, urgent, classical aromas of bright, amply defined blackcurrant fruit. Very poised and pure this year; appetising and enticing. Gosh ... this of the stylistic ambulations of this property! But here we are right back to base. On the palate, this is bright, squeezed bright, almost eye-watering (I exaggerate), but very fresh and crunchy. High focus stuff. All about the fruit, which delivers and is long. Job done. Interesting to compare with La Dame de Montrose; they are eminently comparable this year.Drink Dates: 2024 - 2035. 92
MS | A striking nose, a distinct freshness, blackberry ripe, gravelly too, fine and individual to smell; medium full, freshly defined, finely tannic, a notably elegant balance; crisply blackcurrant and blackberry ripe to taste, gravel imbued, easy, graceful, with a noticeable length of flavour, and fine length of aftertaste. Excellent Pagodes.Drink Dates: 2027 - 2040+. 91
