AJ | Deep black-red, but a little lighter-hued than most of its St Emilion peers. Attractive sweet fruits, but lacks a little aromatic wealth and dimension: sweet and semolina-like. Sound, tender and attractive on the palate; well-balanced fruits, with both acidity and tannins; serious stuff. It is a little soft-focus on the aroma at present but perhaps that indicates that this affable wine is just easing into its secondary ageing period.Drink Dates: 2024 - 2030. 89
MS | Crisply, sweetly ripe, a touch oaky; fairly full, fresh, moderately tannic; plump juicy, pleasing, a nice length of flavour, even, elegant, long to taste and long to finish. Dealing better with its oak tannin than the Croix Canon for the moment - from the same winemaking stable. But also a wine which will need time to absorb its tannins. Drink Dates: 2028 - 2038+. 91
