Chateau D'Issan Blason D'Issan Margaux Bordeaux France 2019 (13.5% ABV) — 88.5
SF | Deep ruby plum, a touch of pink at the rim. Nose is reticent; cedarwood, not much primary fruit at the moment; a hint of pot pourri.....the palate has an attractive aromatic harmony, cassis fruit and a hint of dark chocolate; the acidity unfurls with both grace and power and the tannins only really assert themselves on the finish which is just a little astringent. The polymorphic shape will soon concede a fulsome shape. 89
MS | Light, red fruit ripe and fragrant, blossoming as it sat in the glass; medium full, fresh, finely tannic; slightly wood dry in texture, if you are sensitive to that, a nice richness of fruit, but Margaux discreet too, a light complexity and aromatic presence, and good lightly fragrant length. Perfectly accessible already, if slightly dry, but no hurry either. Drink Dates: 2024 - 2034+. 88
