AJ | One of the darker wines in the tasting: sustained, deep plum-red though not opaque. A warm mist of fruit aromas with sweet autumn scents, too, of falling leaves, chestnuts and funghi: very attractive. Substantial on the palate, as on the nose, and built around a core of firm, bugle-clear fruits, deep, long and backed by firm tannins. Almost a military style here, but it over-delivers.Drink Dates: 2024 - 2038. 92
BB | Deep garnet to pink. Deep, complex, road tar, black fruits, cedar wood, forest floor nose. Full body, muscular, refined tannins, sweet black fruits palate with long, clean, lively finish. Needs few years.Drink Dates: 2030 - 2045. 94
MP | Pronounced notes of black cherry, plum, cedar, real cola, liquorice, sandalwood and autumn spice. On the palate this is devoid of fruit and the huge tannic frame dominates. Unbalanced and unlikely to improve.Drink Dates: 2024 - 2026. 86
