AJ | Bright, clear, light and translucent fawn-red, glowing in the glass. Lovely fruited aromatic serenity here: deft sweet pressed fruits tapered with fine spices, sweet supple leather and fine hay ... glorious aromatic complexity. A terrific profile here. Elegant, smooth, fresh, glowing, and then the tannins gradually unfold and you begin to discover the wine's complexities, which are earthy and root-spiced as well as fruited. An excellent Barolo from this consistent vintage.Drink Dates: 2024 - 2034. 92
BB | Light garnet to tawny. Muted nose with cedar wood and small red fruits, orange marmalade and some dried herbs. Medium body, decadent, overdeveloped palate.Drink Dates: 2023 - 2026. 85
MP | Complex nose with exotic spice including cinnamon, liquorice and star anise. there is less fruit than I would have imagined but there is black cherry, stewed plum, and prune. The finish develops well initially but the fruit is quickly overtaken by the dusty tannins and the ultimate impression is one of spiky tannins rather than elegant fruit.Drink Dates: 2024 - 2030. 91
