SF | Dense raven black colour and a nose which parries brett and oak, dark fruit and crepuscular wood smoke. Linear acidity regiments the fruit, its mid-palate concentration in no way compromised, its complexity unchallenged. The warm year is in abeyance., the sheer quality of the fruit to the fore. Subtle, beguiling and seductive, albeit in a old fashioned courteous manner. 93
DW | Concentrated and dense with dark fruit, this is a moodier take on the Loire Cab Franc genre, a Loire Noir with a delectable core of fresh acidity and layers of chalky-fine tannin and just the beginnings of some savoury maturity: quite tight and furled at the moment, but with the seeds of something charming in the long run.Drink Dates: 2024 - 2034. 92
AR | The colour of this six year old is just starting to evolve from ruby to garnet towards the rim of the glass, , and equally, the aromas too are showing a degree of evolution; there is plenty of ripe red cherry and berry fruit to enjoy on first tasting the wine, and then towards the end of the mouthful, a slight astringency, even chewiness, of tannins brings a refreshing bitter twist to the fruit, demanding food.Drink Dates: 2024 - 2027. 90
