SF | Green gold, luminous, lustrous even. One comes down to earth, in both senses, with the nose of yeast, compost and bottler almond, a hint of hay and unripe hazelnut. The palate is bone dry, its steely austerity strangely compelling, the comparison with its fortified sibling apposite and, although not necessarily playing in its favour, at the very least indicative of adroit typicity. Something a little 'soapy' somewhere... 87
AJ | Pale silver-gold Taut and fresh, but I'd find it hard to say much beyond that. Very little aromatic contour to get hold of, here. Clean, tangy, bright and refreshing on the palate, quite linear, with flavours of lemon, preserved lemon and green tapenade. Bright and salty on the finish. Performs its functions well. though no one will be writing a 500-word tasting note on this.Drink Dates: 2024 - 2025. 90
DW | Apple, pear and more restrained savouriness: this is silky and seamless, building and swelling in backed apple and subtle grilled sourdough tones as it finishes. Does it slightly lack the intensity and savoury complexity of others in this flight? Maybe, but it is a very softly drinkable and harmonious style.Drink Dates: 2024 - 2028. 91
