AJ | Saturated dense black-red, opaque to the core. There is some mixed ripeness here, with fresh green notes that give the vintage away; something that isn't true for the best of its peers. But overall the aromas are tobacco-y, with some early development already, and clean and attractive too. Sweet also. Lively and fresh, but lots and lots of green notes, I'm afraid. The width, texture and density are admirable, so if you're longing for a "mouthfilling yet fresh Pomerol", this may be your wine. But I would find it a struggle to drink with pleasure. Drink Dates: 2027 - 2034. 86
SF | Deep ruby-purple, with plenty of glycerol and extract evidenced. The nose boasts the usual Clinet generosity, rich, ripe and oaky; dark fruit in the ascendant with pepper, petrichor and flint also evidenced. The palate is maybe a little stretched, its chewy tannins working hard to enforce the grip of the liberally applied oak, its structure almost austere in its rigour and also slighlty pinched at its finish. Drink Dates: 2029 - 2043. 89
